Common questions about Pairloft. Didn’t find an answer? Email us — we read every message.

Does the app need an internet connection?
No. Everything works offline — you can play in airplane mode.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Will I lose progress if I reinstall?
Yes. Uninstalling removes all local data, because nothing is stored on servers.
How do I play Pairloft?
Pick a board on the home screen, then swipe up, down, left or right. Every tile slides as far as it can. When two equal tiles meet, they merge into one tile with their sum, and a tile merges only once per move. After every move that shifts something, a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty cell.
When do I win, and when is the game over?
Build a 2048 tile to win the board. You can then tap Keep going for a bigger score or start a fresh board. When the board is full and no two neighbouring tiles match, the game ends and you see your score and biggest tile.
What are the six boards, and are records kept separately?
Pairloft has 4 × 4, 3 × 5, 4 × 6, 5 × 5, 5 × 8 and 8 × 8 boards. Each board keeps its own best score, best tile and games played, and the Records screen shows whether you have reached 2048 there.
Will I lose my game if I close the app?
No. Every move is saved on your device, so you can close the app and tap Continue on the home screen later. Starting a New game on a board replaces the saved game on that board.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings and tap Reset progress, then confirm. This deletes all records and saved games on your device and cannot be undone. In Settings you can also turn haptics, the swipe hint and animations on or off.
